The sun or the sun is a star in the center of the Solar System. The shape
is almost perfectly round with an accuracy of nine per one million, meaning
that the polar diameter is only 10 km in diameter with the equator. Because the
Sun is made of plasma and is not dense, its rotation is faster in the equator
than its poles. This event is called differential rotation and occurs due to
convection in the Sun and its mass movements, due to gradations of temperature
that are too far from the nucleus to the surface. The mass pushes part of the
Sun's angular momentum counterclockwise when viewed from the north pole of the
ecliptic, so that the angular velocity is redistributed.
The sun formed about 4.6 billion years ago due to the gravitational decay
of a region inside a large molecular cloud. Most of the material is gathered in
the middle, while the rest is turned into circulating discs which later become
the Solar System. The central mass gets hotter and denser and finally starts
thermonuclear fusion at its core. It is suspected that almost all other stars
formed with a similar process. The Sun star classification, based on its
spectrum class, is the main sequence star G (G2V) and is often classified as a
yellow dwarf because radiation seems to be more intense in the portion of the
yellow-red spectrum. Although the color is white, from the Earth's surface the
Sun appears yellow due to blending of blue light in the atmosphere. [16]
According to the spectrum class label, G2 indicates its surface temperature
around 5778 K (5505 ° C) and V indicates that the Sun, like other stars, is
main sequence star, so that the energy is created by nuclear fusion of the
nucleus of hydrogen into helium. In essence, the Sun fuses 620 million metric
tons of hydrogen every second.
The sun is the source of energy for life on Earth. The sun has many
benefits and a very important role for life. Solar heat provides the right
temperature for the survival of organisms on Earth. The Earth also receives the
right amount of solar energy to make the water remain liquid, which is one of
life's backers. Apart from that the sun's heat allows for wind, rain cycles,
weather, and climate. Sunlight is utilized directly by chlorophyll plants to
carry out photosynthesis, so plants can grow and produce oxygen and act as a
food source for animals and humans. In addition, sunlight can also be used as a
solar power plant.
